For as long as I can remember, shaving was very painful for me. I was required to shave daily throughout my time in the service, and in my current career. As I shaved throughout the work week, my skin would get worse. I would cut into shaving bumps, and by the end of the week my skin was red and swollen in some places. I tried everything, from different techniques, shaving methods, shaving soaps in a can, creams, electric razors, and expensive razors. I was spending up to $60.00 a month on just cartridges that I could only use twice. A couple of years ago a friend advised me to look into wet shaving with a double edge safety razor, shaving brush, and a good quality shaving soap. So I took to YouTube to learn how to properly use one. I soon settled on an Edwin Jagger DE89 Safety Razor, a tub of Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Shaving Cream, and a Silvertip Badger Shaving Brush. After several weeks, I noticed that my face was becoming less irritated and my face was clearing up. From there I learned to use a straight razor shavette and traditional straight razor. Several months had passed, and I had watched every video on YouTube I could find on wet shaving and proper shaving techniques. From there I watched videos on how to make straight razors scales, safety razor handles, shaving bowls, and shaving brushes. During this time, I also noticed people were paying high prices for brushes that were mass produced, and because of a brand name. Now here we are. My goal is to provide my customers with a custom quality handmade shaving brush, bowl, razor, or complete set. The experience begins with a conversation between the customer and I to ensure they get a custom item they are happy with. From start to finish, Crazy Badger Customers are involved in the process. They get photographs of their custom build from start to finish via social media messaging or email. I believe customers should have a custom piece that no one else has. They maybe similar in shape or color, but never an exact copy, nor a massed produced model.
